Breakbone is Brisbane's underground youth-scene zine. It documents the all-ages music scene the way the scene would, because no one else does.
The motto
Document, distribute, demonstrate. Founded May 2024. The first edition of this history went up in September 2024 and became the most-read thing the magazine has published; this is its revised and expanded sequel, carried up to the middle of 2026.
Why a history at all
Because a scene that doesn't write itself down disappears, and the people who built this one were not going to be remembered by anyone outside it. The record exists so the next fourteen-year-old in a bedroom in a suburb nobody writes about finds out the door was always there.
